As the Calvary team arrived piece by piece, we could not be more grateful for the Lord’s traveling mercies, or more excited about all the wonderful things he has planned for us this year. With only a few minor delays, the team all arrived safely over the weekend and it has been a wonderful time of bonding, learning, praying, and preparing.

On Saturday, we met with the team we will be working with throughout the week, and talked through the plan for the Holiday Club we will be running for the kids in Langa. A Holiday Club is basically a week long VBS, where we have the opportunity to show God’s love to the children in the township in a way that gives them something fun to do while they are on winter break. We teach them bible stories, do arts and crafts, and feed them a nice meal before sending them on their way each day. We are hoping and asking that you pray with us for God to hold back the rain, so we can reach as many kids as possible. We had the chance to begin getting to know the local team, and get a lot of mental-prep done for the upcoming week.

Today we had a full day of worship, attending church services at Common Ground Church in Langa in the morning, as well as Common Ground Rondebosch for their evening service. We also had the chance to pack the supplies for the week and we are all so excited to hit the ground running in the morning.

Thank you to all who have supported us with prayer and finances to help us get this far. We ask that you would continue praying for us throughout the week. Pray for our team. Pray that we would have the energy to reach these kids. Pray we would love our neighbors well while we are here. Pray that God would bring us along for the ride as he sweeps through this community in a powerful way.
