Pastor Joseph continues Calvary’s Psalms of Ascent series with a message from Psalm 132 titled “God the Promise-Keeper.” He reminded the church that worship is more than routine attendance—it is entering the presence of God with expectation, confidence, and joy because God has promised to meet with His people. Just as ancient pilgrims traveled to Jerusalem trusting God’s covenant faithfulness, believers today gather trusting the greater promises fulfilled in Jesus Christ.
The sermon explored how Psalm 132 points to God’s faithfulness to David and ultimately to the coming Messiah. Though Israel’s kings were often unfaithful, God remained true to His word by raising up Jesus—the true Son of David, eternal King, and fulfillment of every promise. Through Christ’s perfect obedience, sacrificial death, and resurrection, believers now have full access to God’s presence, forgiveness, righteousness, and everlasting hope.
Pastor Joseph challenged the congregation to examine both their prayers and priorities. Are we seeking God’s presence, holiness, and rule over our lives? Are our daily choices showing that Christ is first? The message closed with an invitation to trust Jesus fully, pray boldly in His name, and align every area of life under His gracious kingship.
