On Father’s Day, Pastor Joseph explored the life of Abraham in Genesis 12–22, tracing his journey from a hesitant and faltering faith to a resolute trust in God. Abraham’s story reminds us that even the greatest heroes of faith struggled with doubt, fear, self-sufficiency, and delayed expectations. Yet through repeated experiences of God’s faithfulness, Abraham learned that God always keeps His promises.
The sermon focused on Genesis 22, where God tested Abraham by asking him to offer Isaac, the son of promise. Abraham’s willingness to obey demonstrated a faith that trusted God completely—even with his future. God provided a substitute sacrifice, revealing both His faithfulness and His provision. This event ultimately points forward to Jesus Christ, the true Lamb of God, whom the Father gave for our salvation.
Believers today face many of the same challenges Abraham faced: fear, doubt, sin, and reliance on their own resources. The message encouraged the church to trust God in seemingly impossible situations, to express faith through obedience, and to rest in the certainty that God will fulfill every promise He has made through Christ.
