Calvary Baptist is a church with a full calendar. Whether we are caring for pastoral needs, facilitating ministry to children or picking up supplies for Sunday worship, we love to help our church fulfill its vision–engaging the city and impacting the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Rev. Dr. Abraham Joseph

Senior Pastor

Pastor Abraham is married to Laura and they have two children. Before coming to Calvary, he and Laura served as missionaries in India and the Philippines. He holds a B.B.A. from Baruch College, CUNY, and Th.M. and Ph.D. degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary. He also serves as the Chancellor of the New York School of the Bible and in the Council of Missions.

Rev. Dr. Tim Black

Executive Pastor

Pastor Tim and Leslie have two sons and a daughter-in-law: James, married to MacKenzie, and William. He holds a B.S. in Pastoral Ministry, a M.A. in Theology, and a PhD in Religion and Missiology. At Calvary, he gives pastoral oversight to the administrative processes, Crossroads Young Adult Ministry, The Council of Missions, and Life Groups. A 20-year resident of South Africa, he loves the smell of a lekker braai (BBQ), watching cricket, and seeing the Springboks crush their rugby opponents.

Rev. Jim Lokey

Pastor of Family Ministries

Pastor Jim is married to Jen and has two sons, Caleb and Hudson. Jim is the Family Ministry Pastor, and is responsible for leading Calvary’s Nursery, Preschool, Kids, Students, and Parent Ministries. He is passionate about seeing students and kids open their hearts to Jesus and follow Him and encouraging, equipping, and resourcing parents to help them have faith conversations at home. He loves running the streets of Queens and cheering on the Texas Rangers.

Randel Stubbs

Dean, New York School of the Bible

Randel has served the body of Christ in various capacities, ranging from being a Regional Sunday School Superintendent to Director of Education. In 1996, his affiliation with the NYSB began as a student. In 1999, he earned an Advanced Certificate from NYSB. In 2015, he became a faculty member at NYSB. He earned a BBA from Baruch College and an MS from Mercy College.

Audrey Pennant

Administrative Assistant

Originally from Jamaica, Audrey Pennant joined the Calvary staff in 1997. Over her years at Calvary, Audrey has been involved in a number of ministries and outreaches. “I love working at Calvary and serving the people wherever I can,” she says. Audrey’s favorite place in New York is the Bronx's Botanical Garden. She is married to her best friend, Howard, and has a son, Eric.

David Dunkley

Administrator and Volunteer & Crossroads Coordinator

Longtime Calvary member and volunteer, we are thrilled to have David on the staff team. David enjoys celebrating his Jamaican heritage stateside with his mother and sister. As Calvary's Administrator and Volunteer & Crossroads Coordinator, David is able to pursue his ministry passions of working with young adults and seeing them build stronger relationships with Jesus Christ independently of their families.

Eliza Morales

Administrator and Family Ministries Coordinator

Eliza was born and raised in The Bronx, but enjoys celebrating her Puerto Rican heritage. At Calvary, she assists the Family Ministry Pastor with ministering to children. She also oversees the church database. Eliza is passionate about doing her best to help raise the children, teenagers, and young adults to be the future church. Her favorite activities include baking, playing in the summer sun, watching football, and dancing.

Emily Griffin

Communications Coordinator

As Communications Coordinator, Emily works with the Ministry and Tech Teams to ensure the church body is informed about Calvary's mission and ministries. She also assists the New York School of the Bible with enrollment, billing, and academic counseling. Her most favorite place in New York City is the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where her daughter, Charlotte, took some of her first steps.

Finance & Operations Manager

Tucker Miller

Worship Coordinator and Internship Administrator

Raised in southwest Virginia, Tucker Miller and his wife Lyndsey settled in NYC in Spring 2024. To his role of Worship Coordinator and Internship Director, Tucker brings over five years of experience in worship and church administration roles and a passion for creating efficient programs that support others. In their free time, Tucker and Lyndsey play together in a band called Malice & Bravery.

Casandra 'C.J.' Caminiti

Director of Choirs

Casandra, or C.J. as we affectionately call her, has a deep and rich history with Calvary's worship ministry. C.J. does a phenomenal job leading the Calvary Ringers, a handbell chorus, and directing our annual Candlelight Christmas worship performance. A Michigan native, C.J. has been married since 2022 to David Tate. If you are interested in ringing with Calvary, C.J. can be reached at CCaminiti@cbcnyc.org.

Miquel Munoz

Director of Media & Technology

Long time Calvary member and staffer, Miq Munoz manages a highly motivated tech team devoted to communicating the message of Calvary with excellence and enthusiasm. Miq and the tech team will always welcome dedicated volunteers. Cynthia Brown

Senior Accountant

Cynthia Brown serves Calvary as Senior Accountant. Her bachelor’s degree in Sociology was earned at Hunter College, and her master’s degree in Non-Profit Management was earned at Northeastern University. She is passionate about remaining consistent in her walk with Jesus. When not working on projects at Calvary, Cynthia can be found planning her future travels and explorations.
